Garst Museum winter hours
Posted By: Wayne Nichols
Date: 24 November 2002
Due to the lack of weekday traffic, the Darke County Historical Society's Executive Board has adopted Winter Hours. Friday , Saturday and Sunday will be the only hours of operation at Garst Museum for December and February. The museum will be closing for the month of January as always. The museum will be open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday between Christmas and New Years for those who might be entertaing guests. The answering machine will be checked during the closures and anyone wishing a special tour should leave instructions on how to be reached for scheduling. The director will be putting in time at the museum or at home.
The museum is decorated for the holidays and the public is invited to view the trees and listen to a German band playing polkas and Christmas music on Dec. 15. The admission price has been lowered to a $1 donation for everyone who comes to the open house that day. The board hopes that many of you will stop in to see the decorations and listen to the music. The band willl begin playing at 2 p.m.
The "One and Two-Room School Houses of Darke County" and "Retropsect" by Toni Seiler are now available in the museum gift shop. "Greenville's Old Homes" should be available within the next week or two. So as the gift-season swings into high gear, please remember the gift shop at Garst Museum.
