Darke Co surnames: BARNES/BARNS, BYRAM
I'm a long time hobby genealogist/family historian. Finding traces of ancestors and relations wending a path through history is better than any novel. Finding some of mine in early Darke Co. adds a rich chapter.

BARNES, Jared b. ca 1768 MD, lived in Greenville Twp & Washington Twp.ca 1818-1845 with wife, Elizabeth and sons,

Thomas, b. 1803 PA

Amos, b. 1807 OH or KY
other children unknown, possibly an Elizabeth and a John.
Jared is mentioned in 'History of Darke Co as having a grist mill. He had land crossed by Greenville Creek.

Thomas BARNES m. Eliza O. Byram 1824 in Darke Co and had many children.
Amos BARNES m. Amy Byram 1830 in Darke Co and had several children.

Both of these young families and elder parents moved on to IN by 1850.
