Earl Hurst RYAN, M. D. (1884-1975)

Earl Ryan was born at Gettysburg, Ohio 1884. We can testify that he can put up quite a battle on the baseball field or mark war on disease, so Gettysburg was the proper place.

Earl received his common school education at Versailles, Ohio. He attended college at Ohio Northern University and at the University of Michigan. Here he prepared himself to be a pharmacist, which profession he followed for some time.

During this period of his experience there came into his circle of interest a young lady, Miss Jane Murphy, also of Versailles, who agreed to share his fortunes on the 9th day of October, 1909.

Later he attended and graduated from the College of Medicine of our own State University. Following a year's service as intern in the Protestant Hospital he had been engaged in the practice of medicine.

The doctor is an all-around athlete. He pitches baseball well. He plays tennis splendidly, for he once beat the editor. He is an enthusiastic motorist and babby-buggyist. Miss Marthel Ryan had the first ride in the above mentioned buggy and Master Joe Ryan is occupying it at present.

The doctor's garden is one of the coziest in the village. He lives at 1750 Arlington Avenue.
