I, too, am directly descended from Johann Jacob Brumbaugh who came over on the Ship Nancy.
Whereas your ancestors come down through Jacob's son, Daniel, Jacob also had a son David (born 1776 and died 1842; a War of 1812 veteran and farmer in Washington Co., MD) and I am descended from Jacob through David.
David had a son Simon K. Brumbaugh (farmer in Roaring Spring, PA 1806-1892) and Simon had a son also Simon Smucker Brumbaugh, M.D. (doctor in Bucks Co, PA and Phila. 1852-1935). The doctor's eldest son was my maternal grandfather, Rev. Roy T. Brumbaugh, D.D. who lived 1890-1957 and was a noted Presbyterian minister. His wife Margaret Valentine Brumbaugh lived to be 101 (1892-1993). My mother Elizabeth Brumbaugh was his and her eldest child and she lived 1912-1992 in Chester County, PA.So, we're distant cousins. I have been researching my genealogy for about 30 years off and on. Now I enter my data on Reunion 8 software. It is fabulous.
