Re: Beam, Charles & Anna (Milam) Family Tree
Posted By: Dan Nordmann In Response To: Beam, Charles & Anna (Milam) Family Tree (Richard L. Beam)
Date: 10 October 2005
My name is Dan Keith Nordmann, I was born 1-16-60 in Wabash County Hospital. My brother is David Nordmann and he is two years older than I. We both worked for Ray Beam (15 Dec 1905 - 24 Mar 1974 In.) until his death. We did all of the farm work and cut wood for Ray and Enid Beam. Charles E. Beam (1 Mar 1932 - Aug 1985 In.) was still living with Ray and Enid as he had Downs Syndrome. He died in a nursing home in Wabash IN in 1985. Enid is still living. Rays parents were Charles W. Beam (1868-1941) and Rays mothers name was Anna A. Milam (1873-1949). Ray Beam had a brother named Paul in Roann IN. Ray also had apparently 3 sisters named Mary Campbell and Mrs. Loyd Miller both from Roann. Loyd operated the Roann Locker Plant which I remember as a child was where everyone from the Roann area took their Hogs and cattle for Butchering there on HI 16 East of Roann. I think the foundation is still there. He had another sister married to Fred Thrush in Wabash. Enid’s (Ray Beams wife) parents were E. Lee and Ethel Fraling. E. Lee (Enid’s Father) lived from 1888-1960 and Ethel lived from 1890 till 1972. I can remember Mrs. Ethel Fraling as a very pleasant lady with a brown flowered dress sticking her head out of the back door where she lived in about 1971 or 1972. Just before she died. She lived on the east side of Miami-Wabash County line road at precisely the Miami- Wabash County line and the 800 N road of Wabash County….on the North-East Corner. I remember cutting up wood for Ray and one of his sisters when I was a child. My Uncle is Mr. Truman Nordmann who with his wife Doris Nordmann used to live on the Miami County line just North of the old Fraling Place on the west side of the road. Trumans childrens names are Phil, Peggy and Craig. Apparently soon after Ray and Enid married (around 56 or 57) their initial house burned down. Ray and Enid Beam with their only son Charles then moved into the house at the South/West corner of the Miami/Wabash county line and the 800n line of Wabash County. Apparentyly my grandfather Adolph Nordmann built two chicken houses at this location. They no longer exist. Then later in the 1960s, Ray and Enid built a ranch house which still stands on the East side of the Miami/Wabash county line road just north of where Doris and Truman Nordmann used to live..According to Truman Nordmann, the property on the south/west corner of the Miami/Wabash county line road at the level of 800N Wabash county line was owned by Addison Krom and his wife. This was while Enid Fraling was growing up.
