Souce: clipping in Family Bible
Phoebe Elizabeth Pittsenbarger was born July 20, 1878, and died June 5, 1909, at the age of 30 years, 10 months and 20 days. She was the daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. James Dunwoody and was married to Edward Pittsenbarger November 17, 1897. She became the mother of four children--three boys and one girl. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters and Ladies of the Golden Eagles. In early life she became a member of the Valley church, recently removing her membership to the Versailles Christian church.
Mrs. Pittsenbarger possessed a sweet spirit and lived a life void of offense. As a wife and mother she was dutiful and kind. Her interest in her family was unbounded. Her home was her castle.
For several years she had been deprived of social and church life because of sickness. Her last days were full of suffering, patiently endured. Death came as a sweet release and we believe she now dwells where pain and suffering are unknown and where the weary are at rest.
Her husband, four children, father and mother, four brothers and three sisters are among her immediate surviving relatives.
Funeral services were held from the Christian church, Monday afternoon, June 7, Rev. Howsare officiating.
