James Pittsenbarger, the son of Henry and Jennie [Davidson] Pittsenbarger, was born December 28, 1850, in Patterson township, and died Saturday, October 1, 1921, aged 71 years, 10 months and 28 days. He was from a family of nine children--five girls and four boys. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

On February 5, 1874, he was united in marriage to Barbara Ellen Deweese. To this union three children were born, Rosetta, John Carey and Blaine Pittsenbarger, of Anderson, Ind. John Carey died in infancy and Rosetta when a young woman. The mother died in her prime of life on July 22, 1887.

He united with the Methodist church in the year 1886 under the pastorate of Rev. Harshbarger.

Those who mourn his departure are his wife and son Blaine, two grandchildren, Raymond and Donald, four sisters, Elizabeth Metscar of Celina, Amanda York of Muncie, Ind., Martha Finkbone of Osgood and Francis Burns of Versailles.

In the year 1889 he married Mrs. Mary [Mougeville] Meyers, who still survives, as well as four stepchildren, Joe, Edward and John Meyers and Mrs. F. C. Marchal.

FORMER CITIZEN OF VERSAILLES PASSES AWAY
James Pitsenberger Passed Away at the Darke County Infirmary Saturday Night [Oct 21]--Was Prominent in His Early Life at Versailles

James Pitsenberger passed away in the Darke County Infirmary late Saturday night. He was seventy years, seven months of age at the time of his decease.

Mr. Pitsenberger has been in the County Infirmary but a short time having formerly lived on East Ward street in Versailles, where he was well known. A wife, one son and several grandchildren survive him. The funeral services will be held at the residence Tuesday at 2 o'clock. Interment in the English cemetery near Versailles.
