Mr. Wm. Medlim, who dropped dead in his barn, near Pikeville, this county, on last Thursday, was born in Dolpin, Pa., Feb. 23, 1814, and died at the age of 78 years, 1 month and 20 days. He was married to Susan Shultz Feb. 10, 1839. To them were born eleven children, (2 daughters and 9 sons), five of these have died. For about thirty years he was a Christian-part of this time a member of the M. E. Church, but died a member of the Grand View U. B. Church, near his home. He was man of strict integrity, faithful and affectionate as a husband and father, very kind and sympathetic neighbor. He was a soldier in the late war-I believe a member of the 152nd O.V.I. Peace be to his death.
Funeral was held at his home church, and interment at same.
