Elnora Reser, a former resident of Versailles, passed on in Los Angles, California, on November 16, 1944. Services were held at 1 p.m. November 20th in the "Little Church Around the Corner", Inglewood, California with burial beside her husband in Inglewood cemetery.
Mrs. Reser was a daughter of Allen Davidson and Sussannah Pitsenbarger and was born near Versailles on June 4, 1960. On December 29th, 1887 she was untied in marriage to James W. Reser of Versailles. Three daughters were born to this union, the second dying in infancy. Mrs. Reser in early life became a member of the Versailles Methodist church and has always remained loyal to this faith.
Mr. and Mrs. Reser and family made their home in Versailles until April 1903 when they moved to Muncie, Indiana, and five years later to Detroit, Michigan, and in the fall of 1921 decided to make Los Angeles their home after spending several months visiting their eldest daughter and family in that city.
On January 19, 1932, the husband and father passed on at their home and since selling the home more than two years ago, Mrs. Reser has divided her time in the homes of her daughters. She had been in failing health since early this spring.
Besides the two daughters, Mary A. Wells and husband of El Monte, California, and Ruby F. Schofield and husband of Los Angeles, there remains two grandsons overseas in the service of their country: Ronald A. Wells, C.M. 1/c and Sergt. Warren A. Schofield of the Air Corps; two granddaughters Ruby Aileen Wells of El Monte and Harriet E. Schofield of Los Angeles; a sister Mrs. Jennie Miller of Sacramento, California; and a brother and wife, Nr. and Mrs. Lincoln Davidson of Camden, Indiana, and a host of other relatives and friends.
