MRS. ANNA EHRHART DIES FRIDAY

Heart Attack Fatal To Versailles Woman; Leaves Four Sons And Two Daughters; Funeral Services Held Sunday Afternoon.

Mrs. Anna Ehrhart, 72, widow of the late Carl Ehrhart, former Versailles mayor and well known tobacco buyer, died Friday [October 15, 1948] at her home on North Center street in Versailles, following a heart attack.

A native of Patterson township, Mrs. Ehrhart had spent most of her life in Versailles. She was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge and the Christian church. Her parents were the late William and Martha Pittsenbarger Finkbone.

She leaves four sons, Henry and Clarence, of Versailles; Myron, of Osborn, and John of Bucyrus; two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Feeree, Anderson, Indiana, and Mrs. Bessie Houseberg, of Osborn; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Masner and Mrs. Emma McClellan, both of Versailles, and a brother, John Finkbone, Piqua.

The body was removed to the home of the son, Henry, in Versailles where friends called until the hour of services. The Eastern Star held a lodge of sorrow at eight o'clock Saturday evening.

Services were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Versailles Congregational Christian church with the Rev. Russell Kerr officiating. Burial was made in Greenlawn cemetery.

OBITUARY

Rachel Ann Ehrhart, daughter of William and Martha Finkbone, was born April 28, 1877 in Darke County near Yorkshire, Ohio. On April 11, 1896 she became united in marriage to Carl C. Ehrhart of this vicinity. To this union were born seven children, one having died in his infancy at three months. Mr. Ehrhart was a business man in this community and owner of the Ehrhart Tobacco Warehouse on East Ward street. His death on December 14, 1937 has left Mrs. Ehrhart alone for these 11 years.

Mrs. Ehrhart with her husband united with the Versailles Congregational Christian church in the year 1914 where she is a member of the Dorcas Society and the Model Class. She is also a member of the Versailles Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.

Besides her husband, a son, Thomas G. Ehrhart and a brother Alva Finkbone preceded her in death.

She passed away suddenly on Friday [October 15, 1948] morning as she was about her regular duties. "Blessed are the dead who died in the Lord."

She leaves to mourn her passing two sisters: Mrs. Maggie Masner and Mrs. Emma McClellen, both of Versailles and one brother, John Finkbone of Piqua, Ohio. Six children: Mrs. Myrtle M. Feree of Anderson, Indiana; Mrs. Bessie Housberg of Osborn, Ohio; Henry H. and Clarence of Versailles; Myron of Osborn, Ohio, and John of Bucyrus, Ohio. Thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren along with a host of neighbors and friends.
