Mary Josephine Peck, age 89, Milford, Ohio, died Friday afternoon, January 11, 2002 at Jewish Hospital, Cincinnati, OH. She was born November 6, 1912 in Horatio (Darke County) OH and was the daughter of Carlisle Lemuel and Etta Viola Jane (Lyme) Byrd. Jo was a long time resident of the West Manchester-Eldorado area, moving to Milford in 1995 to be close to her son and daughter-inlaw. She served as a U.S. Postal Clerk for 26 years, retiring from the Arcanum, OH Post office in 1962. She was a member of the Eldorado United Methodist Church and a former member of the VFW Auxiliary, Arcanum and Easter Star, Greenville. She was devoted to her family, and will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy R. Peck (1984); step-grandson James N. Snelling II; brothers Oran, Roger, Paul & John Byrd; sister Mabel Hofacker.

The Funeral Service for Mary Josephine Peck will be Tuesday, January 15, 2002, 11:00am, at the Bussard-Barnes-Vaniman Funeral Home, 311 N. Main St., Eldorado, OH. Pastor Tung Za Pau has been asked to officiate. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton, OH. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm Monday at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Eldorado United Methodist Church.

Note: Jo was the last member of her generation to pass away in this family. It just happened that the passing of Jo on January 11, is also the birthday of Betty (Byrd) Nichols, who is the youngest member of the generation now living.
