Former Darke County Teacher Is Dead
Miss Celia Henning, 88, of 120 Pleasant Drive, Union City, died at 1:10 A.M. today at Union City Memorial hospital following and illness of three months.
A native of Darke Co., Miss Henning spent most of her life in the Union City area. She was a former Washington township, Darke Co. school teacher. Miss Henning belonged to the Union City Methodist Church. The only immediate survivor is a sister, Mrs. Harry Shockney of Muncie, Ind.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday at the Brooks funeral home with the Rev. Howard Fox officiating. Burial will be in Union City cemetery. Friends may call at the home after 3 P.M. Wednesday.

October 31, 1961, TuesdayMiss Celia E. Henning, 88, died at 1:10 A.M. Tuesday at Union City Memorial Hospital. She had been ill three months and in a serious condition 10 days.
She was born August 3, 1873 in Darke County, Ohio. The daughter of John and Elizabeth (Finfrock) Henning.
At one time she was a school teacher in Darke County and later was employed at the Kirshbaum Department Store.
Miss Henning resided in Shelby, Ohio for 27 years, returning to Union City about 10 years ago. She was a member of the Union City Methodist Church.
Surviving are two nephews, Glen G. Barr of 120 Pleasant Drive, Union City with whom she made her home and James Henning, Chicago, Ill. *Two nieces, Harry Shockney and Arthur Cronin both of Muncie, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday at Brooks and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Fox officiating. Burial in Union City Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
*This sentence is incorrect. Mrs. Harry (Minnie Henning) Shockney was a sister and Mrs. Arthur (Kathryn Shockney) Cronin was a niece, daughter of Minnie and Harry.
