RECENT DEATHS IN THE COUNTY

Joshua Jefferis, Civil war veteran and pioneer citizen of Liberty township, died in his home near Palestine Tuesday night of last week of the infirmities of old age. He was past 81 years old and leaves two sons – William and Marvin Jefferis, and a daughter – Mrs. S. V. Brown, all of whom reside in Liberty township, several grandchildren, many relatives and a large circle of acquaintances and friends.

LAST WILL OF JOSHUA JEFFERIS

The last will of Joshua Jefferies (sic), filed for probate last week, bequeathed all his property, real and personal, to his wife, Sarah Jefferies during her natural life and at her death it is to go to their children, Wm. E. G., and Marvin Jefferies and Mrs. Lona Alma Brown, share and share alike. The will also provides for the erection of family monument out of the funds of the estate to cost $1000. The will was made September 7, 1904, and witnessed by E. E. Calderwood and D.. P. Irwin.
