Helen M. HelmsFormer Richmond resident Helen M. Helms, 78, 5531 Lunns Store road, Chapel Hill, Tenn., died Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, at Williamson Medical Center, Franklin Tenn.
Born in New Madison, Ohio, Feb. 5, 1924, to Earl and Ruth McKee Wolfal, she was a former employee of the Richmond State Hospital, Perfect Circle and a former jail officer for the Wayne County Sheriff's Department. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren.
Survivors include four daughters, Judy Kirkman and Rema Marquis, both of Richmond, Ind., Sandy Eason, Dale Hollow, Ky., and Carol Warren, Chapel Hill, Tenn.; two sons, Larry Helms, Deptford, N. J., and Lyman Helms, Greenfield, Ind.; several great-grandchildren, one sister, Marilyn Fischer, Richmond, Ind.; three brothers, Roland (Bud) Wolfal, Terre Haute, Ind., Hubert (Pete) Wolfal, Arizona, and Bill Wolfal, Fountain City, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyman Helms, who died in 1983, and one brother, Donald Wolfal.
Funeral services for Helen M. Helms will be held at 2:30 p.m.Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at Doan and Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road W., Richmond, Ind., with Father Joe Feltz officiating. Burial will be in Abington Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m.Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the funeral service.
