English, Frances Sina (Pitsenbarger)

Frances Sina Pitsenbarger was born in Greene Co., Tennessee on the second day of May, 1819, died in Versailles November 23, 1891, age 72 years, 6 months, 18 days. She, with her parents, emigrated to this county in the year 1825 and settled two miles north of Versailles when this country was a wild forest and endured all the hardships of a pioneer's life. She was united in marriage to W. J. English, November 28, 1837. Their union was blessed with six children, three sons and three daughters. The eldest daughter preceded her parents to a better world twenty-one years ago. They lived in happy bonds of wedlock until May 12, 1877. Since then, she has lived with her children. She leaves behind her five children, thirty-one grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She and her husband united with the United Presbyterian Church in 1840. The funeral took place from the Methodist-Episcopal Church last Sunday, Reverend W. S. Culp officiating.
