He was married to Miss Magdalene Baer on November 14, 1844, and together they lived most happily. Mrs. Hershey still surviving. For the last few years they annually celebrated the return of their marriage anniversary, last November having been the 69th anniversary. Mrs. Hershey is in her 89th year.
Mr. Hershey was a life long member of the Dunkard church and was always one of the most active and interested members of the congregation and for many years served in the capacity of Elder. In every phase of life he was honest, industrious and good.
Funeral services were held last Monday afternoon at the home on account of Mrs. Hershey’s poor health. Rev. Christian had charge of the services. Interment in the Greenville mausoleum.
