Reuben Alvin Burns the son of Henry and Martha Burns, was born at Stelvideo, Ohio, August 6, 1860, died near Versailles, Oct. 27, 1928, aged 68 years, 2 months and 21 days.

When only a small lad the family moved to Wabash Township, where he grew to manhood. He was married to Frances Pittsenbarger, November 30, 1884. They lived in Rossburg for a few years, then moved to Versailles, after living there for sometime, moved to the farm where he had since resided.

For almost forty-four years these two have been fighting life's battles together in happy and sincere devotion to each other, but the death angel has stricken the one and has left the other to fight alone. No, not alone, for our Great God the Heavenly Father cares for the widow and Orphan.

Mr. Burns suffered a stroke of paralysis in December 1927 and had been an invalid since, Mrs. Burns ministered to him faithfully day and night.

He united with the Valley Chapel Christian Church when a young man. After his marriage he moved his membership to the Walnut Grove Christian Church of which he was one of the faithful. This church has since been abandoned.

Mr. Burns was a member of the Versailles Lodge I.O.O.F. No. 286 for almost forty-five years. After being a member for that long he surely knew the significance of the three links. Friendship, Love, and Truth.

He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and many friends.
