Nancy Hershey Will
Darke County, Ohio Will Book A-1, 1818-1836 (page 143-144)
I Nancy Hershey of the County of Darke and state of Ohio make and Publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following
First that is to say that the Note is Payable to me from Cristin [sic] Hershey dated on the third day of January A. D[.] 1837 cal[l]ing for one hundred first Note Due the first of [sic] Day of August one thousand eight hundred and thirty Seven and the Said money is to be paid to Joseph Hershey and there to Remain in his money without Int[e]rest until his son Levi Hershey does become of lawful age and the sum is to be paid to him.
(Second) and or Second Note Dated as above Due the first Day of August one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight and the Same is to be paid to the Said Joseph Hershey and to remain without Int[e]rest to his daughter Elizabeth Hershey [until] She comes of lawful age and the same to be paid her.
(Third) and a third Note dated as above Due the first Day of August one thousand Eight [hundred] thirty nine and the same is to be paid to Said Joseph Hershey and their [sic] to remain to his daughter Magdaline Hershey becomes of lawful age and to be paid to her and the Said Joseph Hershey is not to be accountable for any int[e]rest in Said money.
Fourth, and fourth Note as above Due on the first Day of August one thousand eight hundred and forty the same is to be paid to the Said Joseph Hershey and there to Remain without int[e]rest to his daughter Hanah becomes of lawful age and the Said money to be paid to her.
Fifth, and a fifth Note dated as above Due the first Day of August one thousand eight hundred and forty one the same is to be paid to the Said Joseph Hershey and their [sic] to remain without interest to his daughter Nancy Hershey becomes of lawful age and then to be paid to her.
And lastly I hereby Constitute and appoint my two Brothers that is to Say Jacob Hershey and Christian Hershey to be the executors for this my last will and testament revoking and annulling all former wills by me made and ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.
In testimony whereof I have unto set my hand and Seal this third day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven.
Nancy {her mark} Hershey (seal}Signed published and Declared by the above named Nancy Hershey as and for her Last Will and Testament in presence of us which to her Request have Signed as witnesses to the Same.

Personally appeared in open court William Hench and Michael Keefoger [looks like?] the two subscrib[in]g witness[es] to a paper here proclaim as the last will and testament of Nancy Hershey late of said county dec[ease]d who being duly sworn saith that the[y] saw the said Nancy Hershey signed [sic] the same this as her last will and testament and they sign [sic] the same as witness at her request and that the[y] believe she was of sound mind and memory and under no restraint to their knowledge and of full age and further saith not
Sworn and subscribed in open court this 30th day of August AD 1837
