Sipe, William - 1843 Will *LINK*

In the name of God. Amen.

I William Sipe of the county of Darke and State of Ohio do make ordain and publish this my last will and testament.

First I give devise and bequeath to my wife Elizabeth during the term of her natural life all my real Estate Situate[d] in Darke county, and also after the payment of my Just Debts and the legacies hereinafter mentioned all of my personal property for the Support of herself and my daughters Charlotte, Mary Delilah Margaret and Ellen, and my daughter Sally. and at the decease [wrote "deceased", but crossed out final "d"] of my Said wife the Said property Shall desend [sic] and pass to my Said children above named, Share and Share alike in fee Simple as to such of them as may then be living or their heirs if they Should have any.

Second I bequeath to Each of my following named children viz Charles, John, & Jacob, Sipe and Catharine Hartzell the sum of ten dollars to be paid by my executor out of the proceeds of my personal property, and to my daughter Elizabeth Cripe the sum of twenty dollars to be paid in like manner. which is to be in full of all their share of my estate real or personal.

I hereby constitute and appoint John Wharry executor of this my last will and testament. In faith whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal. this twenty sixth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three.

Court of Common pleas March 16th AD 1844 Personally come into open court John Wharry and Washington B Beall subscribing witnesses to the last will and testament of William Sipe late of said county deceased who being duly sworn depose and say, that they were present at the Execution of Said will that they Saw the testator Sipe and heard him acknowledge the Same as his last will and testiment [sic] and that at the time of the Execution thereof, Said testator was of full age of Sound mind and memory and not under any restraint whatever to his knowledge Sworn to
