Last Will and Testament

I, Samuel D. ROUTZONG, of the city of Greenville in the County of Carke and State of OH being of sound mind and memory, do make and publish and declare this my last Will and Testament, in manner following, that is to say:

First, I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my personal estate, as soon after my decease as may be found convenient by my Executrix.

Second,: I Give, Devise and Bequeath to my Beloved Wife, Rebecca L. ROUTZONG, the use and possession; the rents, issues and profits of all the Real and Personal property, including Household and Kitchen furniture, Books, papers and fixtures, including Horse, Buggy and Harness full and complete, for and during her natural life, she however having authority to dispose of or sell such of my personal property which she at any time may not wish to keep, at private sale, and using the proceeds thereof as she deems best.

THIRD: In case the management of the farm herein devised to her for life, shall prove burdensome to my said wife, my executrix hereinafter named may cause the same to be sold and converted into money either at public or private sale for the largest price obtainable, in which case the proceeds of said sale shall be securely and safely invested in interest bearing securities, and the net income paid to and used by my said wife for her support and maintenance and contribution to charitable or other like purposes as she may deem best.

FOURTH: At the death of my said wife, Rebecca L., all my REAL and PERSONAL estate and property, of every kind and description, or the proceeds thereof (if sold as hereinbefore authorized, and all investments thereof) shall pass to and vest in MY son, Herschel V. ROUTZONG, if living and if not, to his heirs.

FIFTH: My said wife, either individually or as executrix hereinafter named is hereby authorized, from any funds realized from the rents of real estate; proceeds of sale or collections of personal estate, in case same is not need for her support, and maintenance, in her opinion, to assist my said son Herschel in his business affairs, by loans or otherwise as she deems best.

SIXTH: I request that upon probate of this will the court do omit to require my said wife as Executrix to give any bond herein in pursuance of the provisions of the statute so providing.

LASTILY, I hereby appoint Rebecca L. ROUTZONG, above mentioned executrix of this my last Will and Testament: hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name the seventh day of March in the year Nineteen Hundred and Fourteen, (1914)

the testator above named, subscribed his name to this instrument in our presence and in the presence of each of us, and at the same time, in our presence and hearing, declared the same to be his last Will and Testament, and requested, us and each of us, to sign our names thereto as witnesses to the execution thereof, which we hereby do in the presence of the testator and of each other, on the day of the date of the said Will, and write opposite our names our respective places of residence.
