There are several Samuel Beck(s) but only a few that might match your facts (in Darke County). If the Beck's moved in from a nearby county, you might see data on other family members in your search (or earlier data about Samuel).

There are two Samuel Beck(s) listed in the 1880 Census.

Beck, Samuel 198D Harrison

Beck, Samuel 119A German

You may want to examine both pages to identify your Samuel.

I do not see any Beck head of households in the 1850 Census.
