In Response To: John W. Bashore (Mary Lou Inwood)

There are several Bashores in Adams township in 1857. Some appear to have property on or around Horatio-Harris Creek Road. You can link to the map page, at the end of this message.

There seems to be some discussions of Bashores, both in Clinton County and Darke County on http://genforum.genealogy.com/bashore/

I wrote you an e-mail offline (earthlink read it as SPAM). The Bashore name may be connected to one of the earliest Palatine families (NY, PA, other east coast states). There are several spelling variations. It might be good to examine some of the discussions in the event that you can connect back to ther 1700s and 1800s.

There is a Bashore Cemetary in Montgomery county: http://dcoweb.org/brookville/twp/madison.htm

I don't know if you can narrow down the age of John W. from the census. It would help to determine which family trees are the best suspects.

Also, do you have a formal name for Maggie or a last name?

In the 1850 Census you can find George, Michael and Jacob on the photocopied Census pages.

There are more Bashores by the 1880s:

Bashore, Anna 1880 172C Town of Greenville
Bashore, B. B. 1880 395D Wayne
Bashore, Benj. M. 1880 017D Adams
Bashore, Christina 1880 002C Adams
Bashore, Elias 1880 016B Adams
Bashore, J. G. 1880 394A Wayne
Bashore, J. M. 1880 394A Wayne
Bashore, Jacob 1880 395D Wayne
Bashore, John 1880 394A Wayne

I don't know if there are census images online for 1880.

Also, there are Besons an Besors in Darke County around the mid 1800s. I might not have unearthed all the leads you might need to follow.
