Re: MARTIN & BURNS Harrison Twp.

Beverly,
You quoted a section from my Martin genealogy. Unfortunately, I don't believe your Henry Burns fits into the Burns family I discussed there.
I don't believe your ancestor Henry Burns was the son of Henry Burns Sr., who died in 1833, leaving a widow, Magdalena, who was widow Magdalena Miller when she married him as his second wife Dec. 31, 1815 in Montgomery Co OH. Henry Burns Sr. already has a well-documented son named Henry, Henry Burns, Jr.
I also do not believe your ancestor Henry Burns was the son of Henry Burns Jr., who died in a steamboat explosion on the Mississippi River in 1834, leaving a widow Elizabeth (DeBra) Burns. On August 31, 1835, after the 1834 death of Henry Burns, Jr., Jacob Martin was selected as guardian by Susannah Burns age 14, and appointed guardian of Henry Burns age 12, Polly Ann Burns age 10, Eliza Ann Burns age 7, and Jacob Burns age 4, all children of Henry Burns Jr. and Elizabeth (DeBra) Burns. Your Henry Burns was born b 26 Nov 1826 MD. Their son, Henry Burns, was born in 1822-3 in Ohio. Corinne Diller might be able to help, but the MD birth of your Henry Burns is a problem as most of this Burns family was in Ohio by about 1815.
I believe you will have to look elsewhere.
