Lucy Calwell (Colville), Richard Patten

Posted By: Charles E. Hawkins
Date: 8 June 2004

Looking to clear up some confusion. My Richard Patten (Patton) married Lucy Calwel (Darke County -4 Dec 1826). Have had no luck tracking Lucy, and there is confusion about proper spelling of her name. Other possibilities are Colvill, Colville, Calwell. I noted numerous COLVILL marriages in the county just after my Lucy. Of particular interest is a John Patten marrying a Sarah Colvill in 1833....possibility of two brothers marrying two sisters. Am wondering if anyone has a record showing her tied to the COLVILL family in Darke County records during 1825 -1868 time period? Seems like a needle in a haystack, but need to solve the mystery.
