Darrell I am a decendent of Samuel Otis and Charlotte (Cox) Root they moved from Ross Co to Darke county in 1904. They lived on a farm near Rossburg. They had 13 children: Cleva Havanna b: Apr 7 1893 d: Jan 4 1949 Melissa Elen b: Jul 3 1894 d: Sep 22 1968 Bertha May b: Jan 3 1896 d: Oct 24 1980 William Lawrence b: Oct 22 1897 d: Jul 28 1958 Evie Otis b: Sap 10 1899 d: Feb 9 1935 Ola Ralph b: Aug 25 1901 d: Aug 1972 Bessie Florence b: Mar 5 1903 d: Sep 22 1999 Marvin Austin: b: Apr 10 1905 d: May 12 1972 Flora Frances b: Mar 4 1907 d: Jan 7 1997 Ora Laura b: Oct 22 1908 d: Nov 6 1996 Cora Marie b: Aug 28 1910 d: Jul 3 1990 Infant b: Jun 23 1913 d: Jun 13 1913 Clarence Authur b: Nov 9 1915 d: Jan 3 1999 (My Father)

I am just beginning my research on the Root & Cox family I do know that the Cox family was present in Darke Co long before 1904 but not sure about the Root family. Samuel's parents were William and Mary (Extine) Root and lived near Georgetown Oh and are buried at Prairie View Cemetery in Whisler Oh near Circleville Oh. They had 9 Children.

Charlotte (Lottie) Cox Root parents were John & Melissa (Frances) Cox and I have been told that they are buried in Webster Cemetery in Rossburg. If you would have any more information about the Root family I would love to know.
