Re: Patterson M. Denny

Thank you, I have that as well. Here's some info out of his mother's bible if anyone is interested:
Her father gave for the bible to her as a wedding gift with "Louisa A Denny" on the cover. Its a huge leather
bound bible. Inside are many photos with no names on them and several letters.
Bible also has the birth and death dates.
His obituary says in the same bible:
Patterson M Denny was born in Butler County November 11, 1 837. He was married to Louisa A. Fudge on December 9, 1858. To this union was born three sons, two of whom died in infancy. He leaves behind a wife, our son, a daughter in law, two grandchildren, two sisters, one brother and a host of friends who mourn his loss. He was 58 years, 5 months and 7 days.
(difficult to read so could be interpreted incorrectly)
Another paper was in this bible that says (it looks official)
LIST OF TOWNSHIP OFFICERS ELECTED
NAME OF P ERSONS ELECTED

Will meet at the Township house on Saturday April the 17th 1890 at one oclock PM. To be sworn and give bond.Letter from brother Robert (brother)to Patterson date d Nov 6, 1887:

My dear bro and family
I expect you would like to know where the lone wonderer is by this time. I am at a place on the Union Pacific Rail Road called Grannit Canyon Wyoming Territory. I would have wrote to you before now but I did not know how long I would be here. I may stay here all winter and go on to Montana in the spring if my health wil l permit me to go. I have had a bad cough ever since I left Andy’s. Well I expect you will have some
bad news for me when you write. I wanted to see Nancy so bad, but could not bear the idea of seeing her suffer. The last time I saw her was when sister Sarah and I was up and you and Frank was planning to come that day and could hardly hide my grief from you, for I knew when I was talking to you that it would be the last time that I would ever see Nancy but you did not know it. Poor Nancy if she is dead and laid to rest her soul is in peace an d she is better off but it is hard to give her up, though we must all go sooner or later. I have been more home sick this time than I was before. I believe I have more love for my relations than they have for me. I would like to spend the remainder of my life where I could see them often. Tell the Eubanks I wil l write to them soon and I want you to write me a long letter, you and Frank both can write. Remember I have a deep love for all of you. Not a strangers love, but a brothers love. I will give you a long letter when I hear from you. Give my love to all of the Eubanks also to Martens and write soon. I remain as ever your brother. My love to all, R W Denny
Direct your letter to Grannit Canyon Wyoming Territory
(note from Jenny, many spelling errors are in the letter, I have left
them that way)All family records show his name was Patterson M Denny, not Patterson W Denny as some online records report.
