In Response To: FISHER / REINHART / WILKEY / EIKENBERRY (Dave Fisher)

REINHART -- Looks like the h was dropped in the 1800s name variations may not have the e in the same place. The spelling in the 1920 Census of Preble County was Rhinehart:

Rhinehart, David 1820 089 Lanier

Rhinehart, Jacob 1820 089 Lanier

Rhinehart, Peter 1820 091 Lanier

I have the following notes, but don't recall the source GED from which they were pulled, so I can't verify if the text notes are from the book by Elma Henning:

--- ---- ----

The Ulrich Rinehart Family and Descendants 1704-1985 by Elma A Henning

"No record has been found of Ulrich Rinehart, Jr, except the re could have been an Ulrich Rinehart with his family in Botetourt county, Virginia after ca 1790.

"Warren L. Rinehart of California, is a descendant of Peter Rinehart. He has a Deed made in 1796, Peter and Uly Rinehart purchased 150 acres of land in Botetourt County on a Branch of Looney Creek. In 1850 Virginia C ensus, an Uly Rinehart, age 83 was living with a John Rinehart. In 1850 Ohio Census, Peter was age 86, so he, Uly and Owen may have been brothers and perhaps the sons of Ulrich Rinehart, Jr. An Owen Rinehart sold 75 acres back to Peter.

"1817-1737 = age 80. Perhaps Ulrich Rinehart, Jr may have died around 1817. Peter Rinehart and his family lived there until 1817 when they moved to Preble County Ohio and settled on a farm in Section 29, Lanier Township. He lived near to Jacob, Abraham and David Rinehart, the sons of Adam Rinehart."
