Samuel Culbertson born 1827

Posted By: Annette Stewart
Date: 16 November 2004

My ggg grandpa Samuel Culbertson married Catherine Binkley on February 13, 1851. He died 1889 and is buried in Abbottsville Cemetery. He has a blue-greenish star by his grave marker. Does anyone know if this means he served in the wars? I thought he was a mennonite and I thought they didn't serve in this way. Is anyone in Darke County related to this family or know any living descendants from this family? I do not know where they lived in Darke County. They had 17 children and my line comes thru their daughter, Marietta Culbertson Fourman, born 1856.

Regards,
Annette
