Laura, this should answer most of your queries about this Michael/Mikle/Mikel/Michel family. I am a Wagaman Family Researcher and this is what I have in my database about this Michael/Mikel/Mikle family. Sophia Wagaman was born about 1834(age 16 in the 1850 DCO census)Sophia was a daughter of Christian Waggaman and Catherine Miller. The following info is on a Family Group Sheet I received from Nancy Stump (Wagaman Researcher)who works at the Garst Musuem. Sophia married Easton Morris Michael 11 May 1853 in Darke County. Morris died 12 January 1856 and Sophia died 1 April 1856. Morris Estate was settled under the name of Morris Mikesell, Estate Pkg 1141 Sophia Michael, Estate pkg 1364. (Note, I have not seen either of these estate proceedeings). They had two children: Sarah Catherine born 18 Dec 1853 and William Henry born about 1856 (age 4 in 1860 Darke County Census. From my own research, I find these two children living with Catherine Waggaman (their grandmother) in the 1860 Census with their names spelled Mikle; Sarah age 6. William age 4. In 1870 they were still in the household with Catherine Waggaman; Mikle, Sarah 16, William 14. Sarah Catherine was married twice and died 10 Aug 1886 and is buried at the Oakland Cemetery in Adams Twp, Darke County. Contact me for more info on Sarah (elliewag1@earthlink.net). William married first Margaret Ellen Hart on 26 December 1877, William remarried to Sarah E Brown 17 June 1906. In the 1880 Census for DCO there is William Michel, wife Margaret, age 18 and 1 child, Mary G. There is a stone in Oakland Cemetery which I believe is Margaret and the child Mary G: Inscription reads: MIKLE, Mary G, dau of Wm and M E Mikle d. 9-3-1880 ae 1y 5m 23d MIKLE,Margaret Ellen, wife of W Mikle b 5-14-67 d. 5-14-1904. This birthdate probably should be 1862 because she is listed as age 18 in the 1880 Census of DCO. I have no more info on William, Do you know where he died and is buried?
