Regarding my search for Rachel Christian, the only other piece of information I have is in regards to a possible connection to Bedford County, PA and the Metzger family that came to Darke County from Pennsylvania, to which I am also related.
I have found an Elizabeth Christian, born 6 Feb 1805 in Pennsylvania who marries a Jacob Metzger, born 16 Apr 1798 in Bedford County, PA. This Elizabeth Christian was the daughter of Philip Christian and Barbara Davolt. Jacob Metzger, her husband, had a couple of first cousins born in Bedford County who came to Darke County, OH where they both died. These include Jacob Metzger (b. 31 Aug 1783, died 9 Sep 1851) and John Metger (b. 1775, died bef. Mar 1839). These Jacob and John Metzgers were the sons of my 1st cousin 7 times removed George Philip Metzger (b. 3 Jul 1737 in Nieder-Linxweiler, Germany) and Anna Louisa Juliane Brumbaugh (b. abt 1739 in Bedford County); George Philip Metzger was the son of Johann Adam Metzger and Maria Catherine Scherer, both born in Germany and died in Pennsylvania -- Johann Adam and his wife were also the parents of a John Metzger b. 1771 in Bedford County who married a Christina Hoover, and John and Christina were the parents of Jacob Metzger who married Elizabeth Christian, a possible relative of my g-g-grandmother Rachel Christian. Because of the links between this Elizabeth Christian and my family and the Darke County connection plus the fact that my Rachel Christian says her family came to Ohio from PA, I am hoping that there may be some Bedford County link that someone can help me with. Any information you could give me would be much appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.
