Jacob & Elizabeth Strader info:

You have Elizabeth Cooper listed. That is so exciting! I found mention of a marriage of a Jacob Strader who married an Elizabeth Cooper in some Tennessee marriage book, but I can't find my original notes. Most of the people doing research on this line _swear_ that Jacob married an Elizabeth Albright--the same name as his mother.
For two reasons I have difficulty with that. What are the chances that Jacob's wife would have the same name that his mother had? Also, my 2nd great grandfather, David Lair (husband to Malinda and then to my grandmother, Sarah Ann Catherine Rodabaugh Lair) was meticulous in the entries he put in their family bible (the bible that has disappeared.) I copied them very carefully. This was in 1959 when it was difficult to have copies made, and I had no access to a copier, more's the pity.
He wrote that Jacob had married Elizabeth Cooper, daughter of Peter and Clary Cooper. I imagine he wrote what Malinda told him. She, being the oldest, should have known her mom's maiden name.
I also found a Tennessee marriage between a Peter Cooper and a Clara Ridenour, and there were also Ridenours living in the Ohio vicinity of Jacob and Elizabeth Strader in the 1850s.
"Strader" isn't even my line, but I've had some "fairy tales" attached to my line, and I hate to see them perpetuated anywhere--which is why I posted the info I have in the first place.
But I would like so much to find out when Malinda died and where she was buried. I don't know why he didn't record her death, except that it may have been too painful to think about.
Thank you for your posts!
