Joseph & William Woolf (Wolf) came from New York to Montgomery Co. Ohio prior to 1837 when they purchased acreage in Mississinawa Twp Darke Co. In 1840 both lived in Mississinawa Twp, but by 1860 Joseph Woolf lived with the Ward family in Brown Twp and was 76; William continued to live in Mississinawa where he had his family including Mary Margaret Woolf (Wolf){Dec. 5, 1842-after 1880} who married at least twice, Stanford Denman, Jr. Sept 26, 1867 and Thomas M Sharp before 1870. Thomas and Margaret are listed in the 1870 and 1880 LeGrand, Marshall Co. Iowa federal census as well as my g grandfather William Francis Wolf (Wolfe){April 5, 1844 - March 28, 1917} another child of William Woolf of Mississinawa Twp. My grandfather William Francis Wolfe, Jr. was born in LeGrand, Marshall Co. Iowa Dec. 18, 1868. What do you think; there were other Wolf's in Darke Co., and another William Wolf in Mississinawa Twp. according to the property listing. Look forward to hearing from you. David William Wolfe
